Baker Publishing Group Welcomes New Senior Acquisitions Editor

Baker Publishing Group is pleased to announce Kim Bangs has been appointed senior acquisitions editor for the Bethany House and Chosen divisions.

Bangs most recently served as the publishing director at Gospel Light in the Regal Books division. Prior to this, she held several other positions at Gospel Light, including acquisitions and author relations manager, acquisition team member, and contracts manager.

With Baker Publishing Group’s recent acquisition of Regal, Bangs will continue to manage several key Regal authors and will later acquire books for both the Bethany House and Chosen divisions. Bangs will begin her new role with Bethany House on July 14.

“Just a few months ago, I had ‘my way’ planned,” stated Bangs. “Then an opportunity arose to relinquish my plan and trust in His. I am very glad I did! I am thrilled to continue working in Christian publishing with such a high quality company and the tremendous team at Baker Publishing Group. I look forward to working with some of the authors I have known for years and the opportunity to discover even more dynamic voices.” A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)

Jim Parrish, executive vice president and director for Bethany House and Chosen, said, “As Regal Books moves into its new home at Baker, there is no better person to shepherd the transition and expand the reach of these fine books than Kim Bangs. We look forward to building on Kim’s wealth of publishing experience as we work together to develop new works that feed the mind and challenge the soul.”
